We are glad to dedicate a page of our site to Monte
Rite. It is placed southerly of our village and it is reachable both
from Vodo di Cadore or Cibiana di Cadore, but the road from Cibiana is
more smooth. Recently a war outpost, that it is placed on the top of
the mountain, has been repaired. In the collaboration with Regione
Veneto and Provincia di Belluno the mountaineer Reinhold Messner has
founded a museum that is the highest in Europe. It is called "Museo
tra le Nuvole" (Museum between the clouds) for its altitude (2160mt).
Near the museum you can find
"Rifugio Dolomites".
