Trekking

37_crocifisso_greanestrekking_vinigoFrom Vinigo, through steep mountain paths, it’s possible to reach many places (see picture number 1) : let’s talk about some of them.
To begin we can say that with an easy walk through a flat path you can reach an old mill (now restore as an hut), where, in the past, meal was made with the corn planted in Vinigo’s fields. Going on the same path you can find “La Grotta”, that is so called because it has been dedicated from Vinigo’s people to the Holy Mary of Lourdes. As far as this point the path is practicable from everyone, after it begins the climb towards “Col Maò” and the difficulties increase. After the arrival at “Pian de Sadorno” you can decide to turn left towards Antelao and coming to ” La Glories”, soon afterwards, going on, you’ll find “Forcella Piria”,  “Rifugio Antelao”, the glaciers of Antelao and “Rifugio Galassi”. From there you can reach the “Altavia 5” (that goes from Sesto Pusteria to Pieve di Cadore) and the “Altavia 4” (that goes from San Candido to Pieve di Cadore) . If at “Pian de Sadorno” you decide to turn right, you’ll find at first “Col Maò”, then “Col Vidal” and “Colle di S.Anna”, at end you can reach Venas di Cadore. Throguh the same path, but following a different itinerary, you can also reach “Rifugio Costapiana”above Valle di Cadore. From Vinigo you can also reach Borca di Cadore and San Vito di Cadore. Through the same steep mountain path (see picture number 1) you can reach “Localita’ Greanes”. At the crossroad with a wood crucifix (see picture number 2) you take the path to the left. You climb to “Greanes” where you can find a lot of huts. Vinigo’s residents go there especially in the weekend to find peace and quiet. There is a detailed description of this trip on Infodolomiti, (site of the “Provincia di Belluno”), but it is on the contrary, in fact it describes the trip from Borca di Cadore to Vinigo.
